Claire Simone - Music for the Soul

Claire Simone by Geo
biography

Claire Simone spent 13 years performing as solo artist; recording and appearing as a featured artist; and also working as a back-up singer with many groups. She has also performed with a number of 'Big Bands' at major musical events such as the Brecon Jazz Festival.

In the development of her unique vocal style, after hearing the backing vocals sung by Helen Terry on 'I'm Only Trying To Help You' on Culture Club's 'Colour by Numbers' album when she was 8 years old, Claire said, "I knew at that moment I wanted to be a singer."

After that, many more great singers influenced her passion including, Denise Pearson, Shara Nelson, Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Janis Joplin, Candy Stattan, Jocelyn Brown, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, Karen Carpenter, Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, Peggy Lee, Billie Holiday, Julie London, Alanah Miles, Mary J, Alanis Morrisset, Anastacia, Heart, Sam Brown, Annie Lennox, George Michael, Meatloaf, Pointer sisters, Ruby Turner, Stevie Nicks, Sam Brown, Jools Holland, Neneh Cherry, Alison Moyet, Bet Midler, Bonnie Tyler. Pretty much anyone who's got heart and soul !

As witnessed on her CD, 'Burning', aside from stepping into the spotlight as a formidable solo vocalist, Claire exhibits her talent as an adept lyricist having penned the lusty title song, 'Burning', along with 'Feel the Beat' and 'Life is a Rehearsal'.

Claire has been producing her own solo material for several years, working and collaborating with various producers and musicians, such as, Odilon Marcenaro, Lee Goodall, Robin Myles, Jason Rogers, and Hill Briggs.
